Paint Color Trends & Choices
Thursday, July 15, 2010
Here is a picture that shows a couple of trends in paint color choices in one shot. Sage green and similar colors have been in fashion for a few years now. They are calming colors that remain popular with many people. More recently here in New York we have noticed a trend toward very white trim. A few years ago you would almost never see this outside a more modern space, now it has made the leap into more traditional spaces as well. Benjamin Moore’s Super White and Muralo’s Ultra White are examples. Designers have picked these trim colors on the last three of our more traditional jobs. Looks like a trend from our point of view!
Using oil based trim paint certainly gives you great appearance and durability and we still do a lot of oil trim work at PNP, but whites like these will yellow if done in oil based paint. To keep bright whites white while achieving near oil quality smoothness and feel there are a couple of options that stand out. More on trim paint selection in our next post.
