Often times, customers and homeowners ask us questions regarding their old cabinets in their homes. The reason for this issue is because cabinets simply get old and age as time progresses. They become worn out and require attention. The typical solution one would think of is to replace the cabinet, which would be quite costly and requires a tremdous amount of work. Today, we are going to discuss an excellent alternative for fixing these cabinets.

A highly recommended solution would be to repaint or refinish the cabinets. This excellent alternative is ideal for any cabinet in the kitchen. By repainting a cabinet, one can save a tremendous amount of money as compared to replacing a cabinet. Maintaince will also be a breeze, for future repainting will most likely only require one coat of paint.
Before repainting or refinishing a cabinet, be sure to clean the surface first. Note that sanding may be required to remove the glossy surface off the cabinet.
After repainting, you can add additional touches to the cabinet by adding new handles or hinges. Choosing handles or hinges that match the new paint will give the cabinet a unique and stylish look. The new look of the cabinets will enhance the overall look of your kitchen, giving it an updated and modern look.
Once that is completed, a primer will be added and two good coats of finish paint will be applied. Usually, oil-based paints is the choice for the top-coat of the cabinet because of its durability and smoothness. However, low violatile organic compounds (VOC) paints are often used for environmental reasons. An example of a top coat paint is Insl-x Cabinet Coat, made by Insl-X.
